Hawks @ Monctonian AAA Challenge - Day 2

The Moncton BlueWater Mobil Hawks finish the day with a 3-3 tie against a solid and competitive Eastern Hitmen team from St-Johns Newfoundland and finish first in Section A of the U15 AAA division with a 2-0-1 record.

The Hitmen took the lead early in the game with a goal in the first period, but the Hawks responded in the second period with a pair of goals of their own from MacPhee (Ruddock) and LeBlanc (Veilleux, Bélanger).  In the third period, both teams elevated their level of play, finishing their hits and increasing their presence in from the net. The Hitmen responed with a quick goal to tie the game up at 2 apiece, and took the lead past the halfway mark in the period. The Hawks tied things up on a beauty setup by Melanson feed to MacPhee in the slot who capitalized on a one-timer shot in the top of the net.

Doiron was solid in nets for the Hawks.

Hawks finish 5th in the general standing.

Hawks next game is Saturday November 18 at 2:15pm at the Superior Propane Center on rink C against #4 Northwest Bulls in the quarterfinals.
